![]() Going through recruitment, community service and volunteering was a huge part of what makes me the person I am. The Sigma Kappa Theta Delta Chapter hosts between 15-20 philanthropy events per semester. ![]() All the sisters participate in the Alzheimer’s Walk in Wilmington and we are known as the Diamond Level Team, which is the highest team you can be. Th e Alzheimer association is an amazing organization and every sister is extremely dedicated to this organization. Lastly, and most importantly, the A stands for the Alzheimer's Association. The M stands for Maine Seacoast Mission, where Sigma Kappa raises money to keep the coast of Maine clean and safe, being that is where Sigma Kappa was founded. The G stands for Gerontology, where we support the elderly in nursing homes, and spend quality time with them. The I stands for Inherit the Earth, where we participate in various service projects to make the Earth a safer, and cleaner place. The S stands for the Sigma Kappa Foundation, which provides funds and scholarships for sisters in need. All of the sisters of Theta Delta chapter value all of these philanthropies. “Sigma Kappa has five philanthropies that spell out SIGMA. I would not be who I am today without Sigma Kappa and for that I am forever indebted to this sorority and the women who make it so special.” We Sigma Kappa sisters live with heart we love and appreciate each other fully and authentically in the most beautiful way. ![]() It is my only hope that as President I am able to give back, and show each and every one of our members how truly valuable they really are. I find so much comfort and strength in my sisters, knowing that they will always have my back and will support me through anything. The women in this chapter are some of the most kind, intelligent, and charismatic people I’ve ever met and every day serving as their President is an honor. Words from the Chapter President : “Sigma Kappa has brought so much joy to my college experience. These include the sisterhood retreat, big and little reveal week, initiation and so many more events that strengthen the bonds of the Sigma Kappa sisters ![]() Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, the sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them by hosting and participating in a number of different events. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages its members to be involved in their campus and community. The SK sisterhood continues to bring members together through many years to share experiences, serve others and have fun. Sisterhood plays a unique role in the life of each member and in each collegiate and alumnae chapter. Sisterhood : The connection of upholding the Sigma Kappa values creates an everlasting sisterhood. The Sigma Kappa sisters are constantly active in their philanthropies throughout the year by volunteering at Rockland Nursing Home and hosting their Sigma Kappa Week of Giving, where they give back to students and the community all week. ![]() Sigma Kappa was honored by the B+ Foundation with the "Heart of a Champion" award for their dedication and commitment to Victoria. The Sigma Kappa women visit their B+ Hero, Victoria in the hospital during her treatments, and spend extra time with her to maintain their special bond. They also celebrate UltraViolet week in the fall by hosting their Ultra Violet Gala, attending the Walk to End Alzheimers, and host a flag football tournament called the Dove Bowl. They host a philanthropy aevent called Greek Love Duets, where a girl and guy from each sorority and fraternity pair up to sing a duet together. Involvement: The sisters of Sigma Kappa are extremely dedicate to their five philanthropies. ![]()
